remake envelope 1.2

remake envelope 1.2, originally uploaded by Tomoe Nakamura.

I redo the remaking envelope that I did before with my teacher's advice, because back of the envelope did not look "finished."

back of the envelope from the previously posted.

Mac Bag Envelope

Mac Bag Envelope, the envelope made with Macdonald paper bag and hamburger wrap.
12.5 cm hight by 16.8 cm width
The Mac Donald bag is thin so I pasted the hamburger wrap (I kept after I eat, and cleaned with dish soap) on the back, and then cut out with the shape of the template and fold as an envelope.

recycled envelope/bag paper bag

I made 3 recycle bags. It is really a first time to made a bag, so it took a while to get used to the idea/technique. But I like the idea of recycle bags, and I want to continue after the class is over in real job or whatever.
#1 A bag made out of an Academy envelope. stamping, folding, taping. A straw string for handle of the bag.
dimension: height 19 width 8 depth 2.3 cm

#2 A bag made with paper bag at a souvenir shop at Kohfukuji tempe museum. I just fold to make it wider and put a handle. (but it was too short) Some collage at front and back.
dimension: hight 15 width 10 depth 2 cm

#3 A bag made out of official envelope from my town. For the security reason, back of the envelope has small design in blue. I wanted to use the design for the design of the bag, I opened up the envelope, flipped around to fold again the envelope inside out (what the inside of the envelope is now outside), and pasted again. Top flip, because it was fold back side when I fold as inside out, so it has unclean white, so I pasted Japanese paper as the shape of the flip. I did some stamping for extra design and put some origami paper. (left over from the last envelope I made)
dimension: hight 19.7 width 8.8 depth 3 cm

Japanese stamp magnet 磁石

I staid over in downtown Osaka on 9/18, 19. I just came back. Japanese holiday, old people day, so there are many people wondering around.
I went hand craft fair at Osaka Bay. They are so many craft vendors, so many visitors.

Here is a little magnet that I made, before I left on 18th.

Nara Map envelope

Here I made an envelope from map of Nara city of Japan.
I said, I cut the window wrong way. I probably cut from the front without knowing.

I put Sento kun and Buddha and Heizyoukyou building photos inside.
Can you see?

Wrapping paper envelope

With the template of envelope I made yesterday, I started making envelope.
Today I use wrapping paper to make envelope. On the back of the paper, I used Japanese paper tearing off and do collages to make more elaborate, even inside the envelope. I could not do well with folding, so I will be careful next time. I learned that when I paste a translucent sheet for the window, I have to paste that before putting some collage, so that the edge of the cut for the window sheet does not show.

The wrapping paper is for a wrapping for Japanese snack box for a gift. So it has Asian feel. Maybe Westerner might also like the wrapping envelope, I hope. ^_^

template handmade envelope

You tube video.

I used some handmade envelope as a template and transfer the open shape on newsprint for the first practice. Then I just fold with the shape and glued at the sides. This is just a practice and I will use more fancy design paper to make a selable envelopes from here. My question is what is the faster way to do editioning.
